Power issues - IT services Impacted | Problemau Pŵer – Effaith ar Wasanaethau TG

What has happened?
The Treforest campus has experience multiple power interruptions this morning. These are caused by power distribution issues impacting all the whole of Treforest campus and many other non-university premises in the area.
National Grid have reported that the issues have now been resolved. IT Services have been able to return core network services to normal operation. There are several services that have been negatively impacted by the fluctuating power, these include printers, AV and WiFi in Treforest, and due to network connectivity paths, some services on Glyntaff campus.
What is being done?
Work has been completed this morning to return most services back to normal operation. The ITS teams are working though all reported issues to return them to normal operation. Due to the wide impact, this will take some time.
How will this affect me?
We know some services, such as AV and printing are still affected. We are working to resolve these as quickly as practical, in the meanwhile, if users experience any issues, please report any these as usual to the IT Service Desk through the Freshservice portal: https://support.southwales.ac.uk/support/home.
